I always feel ten times happier when I wake up feeling both comfortable and cute. I’ve found that consciously trying to go to bed wearing something that I feel good in can really improve my mood when it comes to the alarm going off in the wee hours of the morning!
Here are some tips to help you dress more femininely for bed, and hopefully to help you feel more beautiful in the mornings <3 If you’d like to check out any of the products I’ve featured, you’ll find them here! As always, any purchases made through the links may earn me a commission at no extra cost to yourself. I hope you find this post helpful!
1. Matching Pyjama Sets
As much as I love a pair of tracksuit bottoms and a graphic sweatshirt, I always feel happier and more put together when I go to bed in a matching pyjama set. Starting off the day with a sense of cohesion just makes me feel more put together from the get go!

For feminine styles, I try to look for sets that feature button up tops, anything made in silk or satin, tiny floral and bow details, and lace edging.
2. Nightdresses
Probably the easiest way to feel more feminine! Nightdresses can be quite hit or miss for me, as it’s a slippery slope from cute and chic to grandmacore – not that there’s anything wrong with that if that’s the look you’re going for!

I particularly like to look for cotton nightdresses, sweetheart necklines, puff sleeves, and floral and bow details!
3. Dressing Gowns
As comfortable as they are, big fluffy dressing gowns just do not make me feel cute! I only wear one when I’m ill and staying home from work, so for every day I much prefer a long satin robe in romantic colours, or something in a vintage style.

4. Colours
Soft, romantic colours tend to make me feel the most feminine – pastels, blush pink, ivory, lavender, sage, and soft peach are all lovely options! I try to avoid black and grey with sleepwear where possible.

You can also opt for darker colours too, as long as they lean on the romantic side: burgundy, deep purple, and rich browns can also feel luxurious as well as feminine!
5. Hair
I always try to put my hair in some kind of protective style before I sleep. Now, I only have wavy hair at best, so this isn’t nearly as hard as it is for those with curly hair, but whatever style works for your hair, you can also make it cute!

Loose braids tied with ribbons, overnight curls covered with a satin scarf, or a loose bun with a bow can not only be adorable, but also makes taming your hair in the morning much easier!
6. Skincare
Going to sleep with clean skin is a must! I won’t lie and say I always remember to wipe off my makeup, but I always try to at least… Try to make your nighttime skincare routine more of a ritual than a chore – a chance to take some quiet time and focus on you.

Cleanse, moisturise, and hydrate your skin before sleeping so that your body can do the rest of the work whilst you sleep.
7. Cute in the Cold Months
It gets absolutely FREEZING in my apartment in the winter, so layering up is an absolutely necessity – but I still want to feel pretty! It’s all about long-sleeve pyjamas and nightdresses, soft knitted cardigans for lounging, and cute and cosy slippers and socks.

Hot water bottles and blankets are also fabulous little helpers, and can be just as cute as the items we choose to wear!
In Conclusion
Make it match, make it soft, make it comfortable! The most important part of going to bed is actually being able to sleep, so please don’t force yourself to wear scratchy slips or pyjamas that aren’t nearly warm enough just to look good! Feeling good always comes first <3
